Once a month there are in-depth talks in English on the Pinacoteca’s masterpieces: the initiative, called MEETING ART, does not require booking. All activities are included in the cost of the museum entrance ticket (except for those free of charge by law).

The meeting will be an opportunity to learn about some of the leading figures of Bolognese art between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The works by Vitale and Pseudo Jacopino are excellent evidence of the lively artistic scene in the university city during the first half of the fourteenth century. Francesco Francia's Nativity is a masterpiece commissioned by Giovanni II Bentivoglio, lord of Bologna. Finally, through the paintings of the Vivarini brothers, Perugino, and Parmigianino, we’ll appreciate the significant contributions of foreign masters to local painting.
