Once a month there are in-depth talks in English on the Pinacoteca’s masterpieces: the initiative, called MEETING ART, does not require booking. All activities are included in the cost of the museum entrance ticket (except for those free of charge by law).

The meeting of December offers a new artistic itinerary about Bolognese art between the17th and 18th century. We will discover two paintings of Sybils, one by Guido Reni and the other by Guercino, exemples of ideal female beauty in a recurring subject of the time. We will be surprised by the realistic and popular interpretation of a mithological episode, Latona changing the Lycian peasants into frogs by Giuseppe Maria Crespi. Finally a focus on the Allegorical tomb by Donato Creti from the series of paintings in honour to illustrious English personalities. Sibille del Guercino e di Guido Reni, due esempi di bellezza femminile ideale in un soggetto prediletto dai pittori dell’epoca. Giuseppe Maria Crespi ci stupirà con Latona trasforma i pastori in rane per l’ interpretazione realistica e popolare di un episodio mitologico. Infine un approfondimento sulla Tomba allegorica di Donato Creti della serie di dipinti in onore di personaggi illustri inglesi.
