Descrizione opera
The Adoration of the Magi is represented in the central panel with a layout that develops the narrative using different levels. The central field is bordered by a wall, from which two shepherds peep out; beyond this, the bustling procession of the Magi can be seen, while in the sky the comet appears again, its rays cut off, a detail that may indicate the original presence of a cymatium. The work is completed by a predella in which the artist depicts episodes relating to the life of the Virgin.
